200th Birthday Celebrations of the Great Visionary man of 19th Century

Today on 26th of October 2017 a program on Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was conducted at Government Fatima Jinnah College for Women, Chuna Mandi, Lahore. The program was a tribute to appreciate Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s efforts for the Muslims of the subcontinent. The Department of Pak.Studies/History was given this duty to prepare and arrange the program on Sir Syed’s 200th birthday celebration nationwide. The acknowledgement was given to the vision and philosophy of the great man of the 19th century who certainly mold the way of thinking of the Muslim community of the subcontinent. The program was started with the recitation of Quran and the praise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The detail introduction of the Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was delivered by Ms. Sadaf Mushtaq, Lecturer in the department of History/Pak Studies. The main thing of the program was a special drama on the personality of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan that highlighted his task of awakening Muslim’s hopeless spirit at the end of British rule. His movement of Ali Garh especially with the focus on education was presented so well in the drama. The principal Mrs. Shahnaz Kausar, the staff and the students really enjoyed the drama and got the message through it. The special song on Sir Syed was presented by the college students. A short documentary covering Sir Syed’s quotes was also presented which was prepared by the Head of department, Assistant Professor Ms. Samina Ijaz and Lecturer Dr. Tahmina Iqbal mutually. It was also highly appreciated by audience, especially by the principal. Another beautiful national song was presented by the college students. The program was ended with the most beautiful tune of national anthem.
