Jan 18 2016 Study Tour of Walled City Heritage

Under the supervision of Mrs. Robina Shaheen & Ms. Seema Niaz, a study tour of walled city monuments was arranged for students of Fine Arts Department to enhance their knowledge about heritage & Art of Mughal era. Students were taken to the prestigious mosque of Wazir Khan & Shahi Hamam. Both the monuments are located inside Delhi Gate & Originally built by Wazir Khan during the reign of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (1628-58 A.D).  Grand & sumptuous structure of Mosque covered with blue, torques tile mosaic was a wonder for art students. They explored many traditional designs regarding to surface decoration & architectural embellishment. Shahi Hamam gave them opportunity to observe conservation & restoration project of walled city authority & this experience surely added much to the knowledge of students. The visit remained very informative for students in term of Art, architecture & heritage of Pakistan.
